T.J. Maher

TJ’s Yoga story began when he received a book, the Tao Te Ching, as a gift from his sister 20 years ago. The book poetically explores ideas that resonated with him then and continue to guide him today.

TJ is an E-RYT500 and Registered 200 hour Yoga School (RYS200) with Yoga Alliance with an additional 200 hour Teacher Certification in Qi Gong.   He has over 20 years of teaching experience in Art, Yoga and Meditation to children and adults.

Before creating YUJMU TJ was a full time School Teacher and Yoga Studio Manager.

TJ is also a super geek since he was a kid and loves to play.

What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga in a nutshell is stretching, long held, relaxing stretching that endeavors to work with the fascia and connective tissue.  It also has the benefit of putting the Nervous System into the rest & restore mode which provides its own benefits.  Finally Yin Yoga excels at teaching you about your body, its capabilities and limitations and how to listen inward in more and more subtle ways to heighten your awareness.  Plus it feels super super good!

Who is this course suitable for?
The course is for anyone looking to deeply relax, learn to relax, learn about stretching the body and learn about different ways to approach Yin Yoga.  It can be beneficial to beginners, intermediate practitioners, teachers or just casual curious souls.  All it takes is a mind ready to learn and listen to the body, for those who love Yin Yoga already or those who just want to know what its really all about.

** For any injuries or conditions check with your chosen medical professional to hear their recommendations for pursuing relaxing stretching routines such as Yin Yoga.  Follow their guidance and the guidance of your body throughout the course.
How long is each session, and what is the schedule like?
Time to study and practice each day's content will vary but an absolute minimum of 1.5 hours per day is recommended to complete the guided session and asana study.  To fully review all material for the day setting aside 2-3 hours is recommended.
Do I need any special equipment or props?
No special gear required, we go over various items you may find around your home that you can use in place of Yoga props
Is there a refund policy?
Due to the course content being downloadable we do not offer refunds.
Are there any prerequisites for participation?
There are zero prerequisites for this course.  Completely new to Yoga, Yin Yoga or exercise in general are all welcome and experienced practitioners can benefit as well.
Will I receive a certificate upon completion of the course?
While a certificate is not auto-generated, if you request one via email within 90 days of completing the course we will be happy to provide a digital certificate to the name on your account.

Is this course suitable for beginners?
Absolutely!  Yin Yoga in general is one of the best Yoga styles for beginners and our course provides a great entry point while also being useful to experienced practitioners.
When does the course start?
The automated process begins as soon as you enroll, unlocking content each day but you can choose to visit your dashboard to begin whenever you like.  You can follow along from the day you enroll or you can begin a few days later or a few weeks later, the content will be there waiting for you :)
Will there be opportunities for interaction and questions during the sessions?
We are available and happy to answer any questions you have throughout your experience of the course.  While this is entirely a self-directed course please feel free to reach out if needed.
Can I access the course content immediately after purchase?
Yes but in a drip format over 5 days.  So immediately after enrolling you have access to the orientation and prep module content.  Then each day after a new module unlocks to guide you through the process of deepening your Yin Yoga knowledge and experience.
How long will I have access to the course materials?
Your account will have ongoing access to the course once purchased.  We encourage everyone who enrolls to also take advantage of the downloadability of the content as we truly want you to have this for a lifetime.
Are there any assignments or assessments?
The course does not operate in an assignment/assessment approach to learning.  The entire course content is the assignment and you assess your own development from the practice.  To assist with motivation we structure the course with plenty of support, inspiration and play.
Can I download the course videos for offline viewing?
Yes!  We believe you should be able to keep the files of courses you purchase and to this end we have made everything that we can easily downloadable for you.
Is there a specific pace recommended for completing the course, or can I progress at my own speed?
You can progress at any pace that works for you once the course is fully unlocked over 5 days (from enrollment).  We strongly recommend to partake in the course over 5 consecutive days as this will bring the best results for what Yin Yoga is capable of.  always listen to your body and your own needs though above all else.
What happens if I encounter technical issues with accessing the course?
We have chosen our platform partner, Learnworlds, very carefully after extensive research.  They provide excellent technical support relating to using the course platform and for any content support we are available to you as well for questions. 
Can I access the course on different devices (e.g., computer, tablet, smartphone)?
Yes!  Once you have an account and have purchased the course you can access it from any device with a web browser.  You also have the option to download content files from the course to put on any device as well for offline study. 
Are there any additional resources or recommended readings?
All resources for the course are provided within once you enroll.  If once you complete the course you would like to read more we definitely can recommend some books :D
How do you determine prices?
We have 3 factors we consider when setting prices.
1 | We rigorously research other prices set for similar offerings in our field.
2 | We account for the amount of work we put into creating, maintaining and presenting the offering.
3 | We factor in wha level of cost is needed to ensure participants are serious about the undertaking.  We have offered things for free in the past to be able to spread the benefit to more people but have found those who look for free or cheap options don't always complete or commit to the programs.  This isn't always the case but we find that offerings should be priced according to associated value and commitment level required to complete it.
